Classic 60' Yawl, 10bth, built 1930
Classic American Yawl now undergoing a major rebuild. Designed in 1928 by John G. Alden of Boston, USA, Chief Ivanhoe was built in 1930. She was one of seven sister ships and has a prestigious and well documented racing history.

Chief Ivanhoe has been undergoing a major rebuild - progress includes:
The garboards have been off. re-bedded and refastened with all bronze screws.
The centreline steelwork is all new galvanized steel.
All new deck, coach house and coamings are constructed from teak and honduras mahogany.
The original capstan has been refurbished and re-fitted.
The new sub deck is marine ply coated with epoxy laid on to new deck beams.
Covering boards all new honduras mahogany.
The new toe rails and capping rail are now fitted and much of the varnish-work completed. Toe-rails are varnished on the inside and painted on the outside.
The self draining cockpit is constricted. All new in teak and honduras mahogany.
Accommodation The interior fitout is well underway. The original locker doors, fittings and portholes have been refurbished and are being refitted.
Domestic Equipment Freshwater tanks (under seats), grey and black water holding tanks (under sole) have been installed.
The engine is in position.

The engine has been fitted with its new hydraulic drive allowing the engine to be sited away from the centreline.
